Patients who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use their insurance to pay for care have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their health care.
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are generally required to provide uninsured and self-pay patients with a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when care is scheduled or when an estimate is requested.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling care. Your estimate will include the services and expected charges that can reasonably be anticipated at the time the estimate is provided.
Please keep your Good Faith Estimate for your records and compare it with your bill. If you receive a bill from this provider that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
